Why Let Worry Paralyze You

Has the weight of uncertainty ever left you motionless? There are consistent moments within all our lives when we are faced with a choice. A choice to lean in, release control and trust, or the choice to carry the weight all on our own.

It isn’t easy to trust an unseen God, it isn’t easy to release control and loosen our grip. We burn ourselves out on performance and the search for approval, we grieve as loneliness blurs our vision and grow numb to the world around us while all along the weight in our heart increases. Either way there is sacrifice, either way you may loose part of yourself but what matters is what you might gain in response. You might loose control, but gain certainty that He’s got your back. You might loose anxiety but gain peace. You might loose depression and gain joy. Ultimately we each get to choose.

My hope is that you’ll choose to press in, sacrifice control, abandon your overweighted load and breath in peace. It surely isn’t going to be easy and it’s something I have to daily practice but what I’ve learned is that it’s worth it. It’s worth being uncomfortable, it’s worth believing in a faithful God, it’s worth loosing myself to gain more of Him.

Psalm 62 (TPT) has been such an encouragement, I hope it is for you to! “I stand silently to listen for the one I love, waiting as long as it takes for the Lord to rescue me. For God alone has become my Savior. He alone is my safe place; his wrap-around presence always protects me. For he is my champion defender; there’s no risk of failure with God. So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me?”
